Summerland Labradors

Summerland Labradors is a very small hobby kennel located in
Southern California
(Near the Wrightwood area)

The Labrador that started our love affair with this breed was our yellow female Belle. She
is very smart, loving, a great foot warmer and a very loyal family member. From then on
we knew there would be no other breed of dog for our family. Our love for our lab has
been the driving force behind our desire to be involved in all that these dogs can do. I
have worked with my dogs in the obedience ring as well as the conformation ring, and
although I haven’t been involved in field trials yet, I am looking forward to having them
trained for field work as well. Our intentions are to produce an all around Labrador that
can curl up at your feet or run with you through the fields.
We only breed one to two litters per year and every breeding is planned months or years
in advance with the intention of keeping something to show or to continue our lines and
build on the dogs we have. We will only keep on average 4 adult Labradors so that we are
able to give them the proper exercise, attention, training and the wonderful life that they
deserve.

Our goal with each litter is a healthy, sound, beautiful Labrador that represents the
highest standard of the breed.
Our dogs are gentle, loving and patient with our children, happily tolerating the "busy"
antics of five young kids. We will always strive to produce a Labrador with correct
temperament.

All of our puppy’s parent’s must pass all the appropriate health clearances before they
are considered for breeding. We certify our dog’s hips and elbows through the
OFA-Orthopedic Foundation of Animals and CERF-Canine Eye Registry Foundation for
their annual eye clearances. These health screenings give your puppy a much better
chance of being free from such genetic diseases that are common in Labradors.
